MAP Mobile Apps with TAAP on Microsoft Mobile Marketplace

TAAP Me applications are single user entry point applications for Consumers and Business ‘Champions’ and will be available through Microsoft’s Windows Mobile MarketPlace. Created and derived from its multi-user collaborative applications, the ‘TAAP Me’ range of products provides access to award winning technology.

A Mobile Adoption Plan (MAP) is essential for any business looking to leverage the benefits of this technology. A business champion or analyst can utilise these products at a very low cost to help evaluate how mobile software can be used, and gain valuable insights into how major efficiencies and cost reductions can be achieved. TAAP's clients have in some cases made same day Returns On Investment, others have achieved 90% improvement in process efficiencies.

TAAP Me applications offer opportunities to experience the power of mobile technologies without any risk or obligation. Although aimed mainly at users within a business environment, the ‘TAAP Me’ applications also have consumer appeal. Some of the forms-based applications available include TAAP Delivery – an application for scheduling and completing delivery/collection jobs; TAAP Maintenance – an application for ensuring maintenance jobs are logged, allocated a status, and signed off when complete; and TAAP AutoInspect – an application which allows a comprehensive vehicle inspection to be completed, including photographic annotations to mark any damage or highlight specific features. Some applications will use the GPS mapping features built into many PDA handsets.

All the information collected via these applications will be further enhanced by a secure website viewer, where users can ‘send’ their data (inclusive of photographs and signatures). This will enable users to share information with whoever they choose to – whether this is a customer requiring proof of delivery details, or a potential car purchaser wishing to view a vehicle inspection before buying.

Business champions will now be able to trial mobile applications for a small amount of money, and see the potential difference they can make to the organisation before investing in a system. Other users can be added to the application easily via a website, and so an organisation can start to use apps which benefit multiple users as opposed to individuals only.

The applications will be available from £3 to approximately £10, from Microsoft Windows Marketplace, and also directly from TAAP’s own app store – The TAAP Store – due to launch in November 2009.

TAAP’s customers, including Shelter – the charity for homelessness and bad housing, Northgate Plc - vehicle rental, various NHS organisations, and a number of marketing agencies, have used TAAP’s mobile solutions to great effect.

Usage includes: collection of direct debit commitments and one-off payments on mobile PDA devices, vehicle assessments inclusive of photographic evidence and annotation as well as signature capture (helping to reduce customer disputes), a mobile front-end to an existing facilities management software system, and customised data capture applications.

Interested users can call TAAP on 0845 230 9787 or 0208 387 1762 to obtain further details of these or other apps planned for release , or to suggest apps they may wish to see available for download.
